Since announcing his arrival on NHL in the 2015-16 season, William has registered 86 goals and 135 assists in as many as 307 regular-season games for the Leafs. Prior to that, the young star bagged a goal medal representing Sweden at the 2013 World U-17 Hockey Challenge.

William’s dad, Michael was a center for the Calgary Flames prior to his retirement.

About 6 feet (1.83 meters) tall in height, William spent a major part of his childhood in the United States as his father spanned his NHL career with multiple teams. William moved to Sweden at the age of 14 alongside his siblings: Daniella, Stephanie, Michelle, Jaqueline, and Alexander. Following the footsteps of his father, William turned a major role in ice hockey as a youth player for the New York Rangers minor ice hockey team. Some four years later, he made his Allsvenskan debut on 14 February 2013, playing alongside his father with Södertälje SK.
