Selena Quintanilla name comes mostly at first as the lead member of her band, Selena y Los Dinos. Besides music, she ran a South Texas-based boutique and salon store from 27 January 1994 prior a year from her death.

The actress celebrated her birthday every year on 16 April. She was born in 1971 as the youngest child of Abraham Quintanilla Jr. and Marcella Ofelia Samora in Corpus Christi, Texas. Her elder siblings are named Suzette Quintanilla and A.B. Quintanilla III.

Selena went to the American School of Correspondence in Chicago to complete her high school diploma. From then, she moved to Louisiana State University and the Pacific Western University.

The actual cause of Selena’s death was from her friend named Yolanda Saldívar who shot her back on 31 March 1995. Yolanda was also her former manager of Selena Etc. Boutiques. The two’s conflict arose after Yolanda was earning wrongly from Selena’s ventures. Selena even tried to reconcile their relationship and meet wanted Yolanda to meet her husband Chris Pérez for tax purpose documents. However, they later knew Yolanda had provided fake papers to which she requested Selena to come alone to get the right reports from the motel.

When they met, Yolanda took out a revolver from her carry-on and shot Selena. In meanwhile, when she was taken to a local hospital in Corpus Christi, she was declared dead. Almost 40,000 people were there to witness the final rites of the late singer at the Seaside Memorial Park in Corpus Christi.

Career & Net Worth

The late artist had managed to earn a net worth of $10 million after commencing into musicality. Some of her smash record songs are Como la Flor (1992) and Si Una Vez ( 1994) to name a few.

Post her death, her final album, Dreaming of You went on releas in 1995. Some of the hit songs of the album are I Could Fall in Love and Dreaming of You.

Selena’s husband, Chris was her band member. The lovebirds were very close with each other, and despite her father disapproval, they went to tie the knot on 2 April 1992. Before their marriage, the singer did not allow him to be in the musical group.

Her husband was single until 2001 till he eloped with a lady, Venessa Villanueva on 26 October 2001. The couple had two children, Cassie, and Noah Pérez before their final separation in 2008.
