The comeback of Jimmer Fredette to NBA is confirmed after he penned two year contract with the team Phoenix Suns in March 2019. He will play with the Suns through the rest of the 2018-19 after his stint with the Shanghai Sharks in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA).


Jimmer Fredette is an American professional basketball player, who currently plays for the NBA team Phoenix Suns. He was the 2011 National Player of the Year in college basketball and also the leading scorer in all of NCAA Division I during his senior college season for the BYU Cougars.

The former BYU star was born as James Taft Fredette on 25 February 1989 to parents Al Fredette and Kay Fredette. His financial adviser father and mother raised him along with two brothers, TJ Fredette and Lee Taft Fredette, and a sister Lindsay Fredette in New York.

Jimmer attended Glens Falls High School for his school education, where he subsequently became all-time leading scorer until 2015. He later went to Brigham Young University and played college basketball from 2007 to 2011. Jimmer’s professional basketball career started with the Sacramento Kings after being traded from Milwaukee Bucks. He was selected by the Bucks with the 10th overall pick in the 2011 NBA draft. He played for three seasons for the Kings, earning an average salary of more than $2 million annually.

Later, he joined the Chicago Bulls for the rest of the 2013–14 season earning $239,279 during his stint. In the seasons 2014-15 and 2015-2016, he played with three teams New Orleans Pelicans, Westchester Knicks, and the New York Knicks.

But, in 2016, he moved to China and started playing for Shanghai Sharks until 2018. He bagged the big money, earning an annual salary of $1.8 million per year in China.

Jimmer has scored six points per game in his career, shooting 38.1% from three. The NBA star has amassed the heavy net worth from his basketball career for nearly a decade.
