The 6-foot-4-inch is the eldest of three children in the family. He has a younger brother named Colton Dach and a younger sister named Callie Dach. Both his siblings are following the footstep of their brother.
His younger brother Colton plays as a forward for the WHL team, Saskatoon Blades. Likewise, his sister Callie plays as a defense for the under-15 team of Sherwood Park Royals.

Earlier, Kirby played for Fort Saskatchewan’s Midget AAA Rangers for two seasons.
Dach began his junior career at the age of 15. The Saskatoon Blades selected him second overall in the 2016 Western Hockey League (WHL) Bantam Draft. He played for the team for three seasons and even represented as a captain for Team Orr for the CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game.
Later, the Chicago Blackhawks selected him third overall in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft. On 8 July 2019, he penned a three-year, entry-level contract with the club.
Kirby made his NHL debut for the Blackhawks against the Washington Capitals on 20 October 2019. Likewise, he scored his first NHL goal on Marc-Andre Fleury of the Vegas Golden Knights on 22 October 2019.
Besides, Dach represented Team Canada for the Hlinka Gretzky Cup in 2018. Moreover, he was included in the 2021 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships team in 2020.
However, he suffered an injury in the game against Russia on 23 December 2020. He broke his wrist and was sidelined for 4 to 5 months.
