The 2012 NHL Draft proved to be lucky for Scott Laughton. It was an immense pleasure for the 26-year-old to represent Flyers with career dips and success in eight years and on.

Canadian professional ice hockey Scott Laughton plays for the NHL team, Philadelphia Flyers. He is the gold medal recipient of The World U-17 Hockey Challenge, also known as the Quebec Esso Cup in 2011.

The player was born on 30 May 1994 in Oakville, Ontario. Talking about his family, his parents, Craig and Bonnie raised him. His dad is his sheer inspiration to coach him from the age of five until 14. During that time, he began to play junior in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL).

Scott went to Holy Family Elementary School and Holy Family High School while captaining the Toronto Marlboros Minor Midget AAA of the Greater Toronto Hockey League (GTHL). The athlete stands at a height of 6 feet 1 in (185 cm) tall and weighs around 80 kg.

Scott’s minor hockey play began after the 2010 OHL Selection Draft by the Oshawa Generals. During the rookie season, out of 63 games, he scored 12 goals including 11 assists for the 2011 OHL playoffs. Post sophomore season, he got the fortune to be the 20th overall pick by the Philadelphia Flyers in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.

He and Flyers agreed upon a three-year contract including an entry-level agreement on 8 August 2012. After the end of 2012–13 NHL lockout, with his NHL debut on 19 January 2013. A year later he was loaned to Oshawa Generals of the OHL. With losing confidence and ability, he still managed to make four points during his NHL debut against 7-1 win over Peterborough Petes on 3 October 2013.

However, from the 2015-16 season, his association with the Flyers became intact playing 71 games with seven goals and 14 assists for 21 points. On 11 July 2017, he and the Flyers agreed upon a two-year contract worth $1.925 million making him earn $962,500 per annum. Moreover, in the mid-2020 season, he recorded a two-goal and one assist game on 6 August. As the team faced elimination against the Islanders by Game 5, the player became the sixth player in franchise history to score an overtime goal.
