Jasmine Elizabeth Birtles was born in 1962 in East Sussex, England that makes her 58 years of age. However, her birth date is nowhere found in the media. She is a first-born child of British parents and grew up with a younger brother. Her mother Jean Birtles is also an author. She has even co-authored a book with her mother titled “The Top Notch Nannies Guide: A Quick, Easy, Fun Guide to Hiring a Nanny.”

Birtles pursued her primary education at Cradle Hill Community Primary School in Seaford, England. She then attended Brighton Girls, formerly Brighton and Hove High School. After graduating from high school, she won a scholarship to read English Literature at Christ’s College, Cambridge.

Jasmine began her career in the media industry in 1996. Since then, she has contributed to financial and consumer issues on numerous televisions, radios, and magazines. In 2007, she founded Moneymagpie.com, a money-making and money-saving consumer website.

Birtles presented “The Insider” documentary on debt for Channel 4 in 2007. Moreover, she co-presented numerous programs such as BBC 1’s “Homes Under the Hammer”, ITV Scotland’s “Spend Spend Spend” as well as “First Time Buyers” and “Doctor Dosh” for UKTV Style. On the radio, she has appeared as a regular guest on radio programs including the BBC’s You and Yours, Steve Wright in the AfternoonRadio 2, and Radio 5 Live.

Moreover, she has authored 38 books including one best-seller. Some of her books are A Woman’s Little Instruction Book (1995), A Little Book of More Abuse (2002), and The Money Magpie (2009). Currently, she is a regular financial expert on Daybreak, BBC Breakfast News, This Morning, BBC News, and Sky News.
