The couple first met each other in 1993 when James played a Boston Pops show at Symphony Hall. However, the couple only began dating two years later in 1995, and eventually wed in front of their 50 friends and family.
After their nuptial bond, Caroline and James welcomed twin sons named Rufus Taylor and Henry Taylor in April 2001. Since, they settled in Lenox, Massachusetts.
Before meeting James, Caroline was married to the late orchestra’s principal trumpeter, Rolf Thorstein Smedvig. They wed in December 1980 and decided to part ways a few years later.
