The 2020 MLB Draft brought some big fortune for young baseball superstar Asa Lacy as he got picked by the Kansas City Royals. He was selected as the fourth overall pick to join the Royals’ power-packed roaster.

Asa Lacy is an American baseball pitcher who will now play for Kansas City Royals of the Major League Baseball (MLB). The young pitcher previously played college baseball for the Texas A&M University.

The 21-years-of-age young player was born as Asa Edward Lacy on 2 June 1999 in Bryan, Texas, the United States. He is the son of his parents, Phillip Lacy and Cynthia Lacy. Asa later grew up in Kerrville, Texas. His father, Phillip, played tennis at Sam Houston State.

About 6 feet and 4 inches (1.93 meters) tall in height, Asa attended Tivy High School in Kerrville, Texas, for his early education. There, he initiated his amateur baseball career. He later attended Texas A&M University to play college football.

Before Asa was selected by the Kansas City Royals with the fourth overall pick in the 2020 MLB Draft, he recorded 13-1 with 0.93 earned run average (ERA) and 128 strikeouts over 97 innings in his high school senior career.

Later on, playing college football for Texas A&M, he appeared in 23 games with two starts, recording 3-1 with a 2.75 ERA and 48 strikeouts in his first year in 2018. Furthermore, as a sophomore in 2019, Asa played 15 games going 8-4 with a 2.13 ERA and 130 strikeouts. Following the season, he played for the United States collegiate national team.

The MLB newbie is reportedly dating his girlfriend named Ciera Hecht. Ciera is a collegiate volleyball player at Texas A&M University.

Ciera hails from Prosper, Texas, and she attended Prosper High School. She began playing volleyball when she was nine years old. Ciera also ran track in middle school and planned to continue in high school, but decided to focus on club volleyball in the spring instead.
