As the fifth overall pick, Austin Martin is now a part of a giant MLB team. Before he had got a fortune to ally with a powerpack team to which he denied and instead chose the Vanderbilt University.

American baseball infielder and outfielder Austin Martin will be playing for the MLB team The Toronto Blue Jays. He is the former player of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) college baseball team, Vanderbilt Commodores.

The player was born as Christopher Austin Martin on 23 March 1999 in DeLand, Florida to parents, Daisy and Christopher. Talking a bit more about his family, his father and mother got married at age 19 and 20. Besides them, he has an older sister, Jen, and a younger sister to whom he share a great rapport.

Their parents raised him at a difficult time of not having a house too but also having a responsibility to attend school. To complete his education, he went to Trinity Christian Academy in Jacksonville, Florida. He stands at a height of 6 feet 0 inches (1.83 m) and weighs around 185 pounds.

Austin is the fifth overall pick of the 2020 MLB Draft. The Toronto Blue Jays are fortunate to have the baseball prodigy actively to be part of their roaster. The exciting news was also shared through Jay’s official Twitter account. 

In the 2017 MLB draft, the 21-year-old got the fortune to be part of the Cleveland Indians roaster. The MLB giant got selected in the 37th round but opted out to sign an agreement with Indians. However, he chose Vanderbilt University to play college baseball for the Vanderbilt Commodores.

A year later as a freshman, he played for six different positions in around 58 games in 2018. Austin made a hit .338/.452/.414 with one home run, 19 runs batted in (RBI), and 22 stolen bases. The next season, he played mostly third base his sophomore year. With a tally of eight home runs with a hit .410/.503/.619 in 65 games, he helped lead Vanderbilt to victory in the 2019 College World Series against Mississippi State.
