She has two brothers, Joe Talley and Jackson Talley, and an older sister named Leigh Talley. Jackson is a Marketing Production Manager at Metropolitan Opera in New York.

Talley attended Caldwell County High School, graduating in 2012. There, she was a three-time Kentucky state girl’s golf champion (2008, 2010, and 2011).
Afterward, she went to the University of Alabama to play collegiate golf. Emma played for all four years, earning four-time Women’s Golf Coaches Association All-America selections.

Emma began her amateur career in 2008, being on the victorious U.S. Junior Ryder Cup team, which defeated Europe 22–2. In 2013, she won the U.S. Women’s Amateur at the Country Club of Charleston.
In 2016, she turned professional, joining the Symetra Tour. On 3rd June 2016, she became a runner-up in the Fuccillo Kia Championship. Likewise, she became second at the Kansas City Championship and fourth at the Tullymore Classic.
Talley first went on the LPGA Tour in 2018. Subsequently, she finished seventh at the Women’s Australian Open and fifth at the Hugel-JTBC LA Open.
