Basile is the new Jeopardy champion who won the 19th June episode of this season’s Jeopardy. There, he faced an archivist at Purdue University Adriana Harmeyer, and Tekla Sauter, a nonprofit strategist from Chicago, Illinois.
The master’s graduate from Birmingham, Michigan stopped Adriana from capturing her 16th straight win. Adriana was a returning 15-day champion who had total winnings of $349,600 on the show.
Basile answered 21 questions correctly, only missing four questions in the first two rounds. He wagered $118 in the Final Jeopardy question but missed the question. As a winner, he took home $23,482 and will return to the next episode. His upcoming competitors are Bob Longstreth, a Superior Court Judge from San Diego, California, and Jonquil Garrick-Reynolds, a theatrical wardrobe technician from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.
Drew Basile Was Also A Contestant On Survivor
Basile was also a contestant on the CBS survival reality show, Survivor. He competed in the 45th season in 2023 and eventually was the youngest competitor to appear in the season.
Nevertheless, he did not win the show and finished in 6th place. He survived for 23 days out of 26 days with no clothes, no shelter, and no food.

Drew recently pursued a master’s degree in English Literature from the University of Oxford. He graduated in June of 2024. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in English Language and Literature and a Letter from the University of Pennsylvania.
Earlier, he had a contract with CBS to appear on the reality television program Survivor. Likewise, he interned in acquisition at the University of Pennsylvania Press Incorporated.
From 2020 to 2021, he worked as a researcher for a Russian-language poetry symposium at Your Language My Ear. During the pandemic, he moved to Philadelphia on his own and worked at a cell center.
