After high school, he went to Florida State University to play college football. He played for the Florida State Seminoles for a season. After four seasons with the Nuggets, he was traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves in a four-team, 12-player trade on 5 February 2020. Meanwhile, he made his debut for the Timberwolves in the historic 142-115 win against the Los Angeles Clippers. There, he scored 23 points on 7-of-13 from beyond the arc while also adding 10 rebounds and four assists.
