Dani Arnold was born in 1984 in the canton of Uri in Switzerland. He is 39 years of age and he blows out his birthday candles on the 22nd of February every year.
Talking about his family, Dani was raised by his parents, Fredy Arnold and Monika Arnold. He and his brothers used to do the alpine tours with their father. Eventually, the family started some simple climbs together.

Dani was around 20 years old when he decided to become a solo ice climber. Soon, his record-breaking climb of the north face of Eiger at 2 hours and 28 minutes brought him to the attention of the public.
Likewise, he climbed the west ridge of Salbitschije at a record time of 1 hour and 25 minutes. He then made the first-ever winter ascent of Torre Egge in 2010.
Eventually, Dani became the first non-Scottish person to free-climb The Hurting. He climbed the high east face of Moos Tooth in April 2013 and set the record for the fastest solo ascent of the Matterhorn by summiting in 1 hour and 46 minutes.
Back on 12 June 2023, Dani set another record by being the first person to climb all three ridges of Salbit. He then summated the peak of Mount Everest on 8 May 2023 without any oxygen cylinders.

Recently in October 2023, Dani was featured in the Netflix adventure documentary titled Race to the Summit. The 90-minute-long documentary was about fearless alpine climbers Dani and Ueli Steck who enter into a death-defying rivalry to set speed records on the Swiss Alps’ great north faces.
Ueli, who was popular as the Swiss Machine died aged 40 on Nuptse in 2017 after a fall during an acclimatization ascent for an attempt at the unrepeated Everest West Ridge/Hornbein Couloir route without supplementary oxygen.
Both Dani and Ueli shared a great professional rivalry which has been beautifully portrayed in the documentary.
