The 22-years-of-age football wide receiver was born as Collin Johnson on 23 September 1997 in Los Angeles, California, the United States. He is the son of his College Football Hall of Fame cornerback father, Johnnie Johnson. His dad played at Texas and was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2007. Johnnie also enjoyed 10 season-long NFL career with Los Angeles Rams and Seattle Seahawks during the 1980s.

Besides his father, Collin has an older brother named Kirk Johnson, who is also a football player at Texas. Likewise, he shares a sibling bond with a sister named Camille Johnson. Camille is a member of the track and field team.

Speaking about his education, Collin attended Valley Christian High School in San Jose. Eventually, he was up-and-running with his amateur football career. Later on, Collin enrolled at the University of Texas to play college football for the Texas Longhorns. He graduated from the university in December 2019.

As part of his high school career, Collin was limited by injury in both his sophomore and senior seniors. However, he eclipsed 1,100 yards as a senior. He then committed to Texas on 17 April 2014 along with his brother, Kirk.

In his early junior season, Collin hauled in a career-high 191 yards against the USC including 47 on a go-ahead touchdown. During the 2016 season, Collin managed 28 receptions for 315 receiving yards with 3 touchdowns. The 2018 season was very fruitful for him as the player managed the stats of 68 receptions for 985 receiving yards with 7 touchdowns.

Coming with the impressive stats, the player is one of the huge prospects for the 2020 NFL draft, which takes place on 23-25 April 2020.
