In his rookie year, Jayson recorded perfect stats intact making an average 18.7 points, 9.7 rebounds, 2.3 steals, and 2.0 assists at the NBA Summer League event in Utah. Likewise, his NBA debut came with a lot of surprises when he made another stats record of 14 points and 10 rebounds in a 102–99 loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers.

In the team’s season opener for the 2018-2019 season, Jayson made 23 points, 9 rebounds, and 3 assists in a 105–87 win against the Philadelphia 76ers. Likewise, on 20 October 2018, he scored 24 points and 6 rebounds in a 101–95 win over the Oklahoma City Thunder. While the season is halted due to global pandemic from COVID-19, the player is back scoring 34 points on 11-22 shooting vs the Portland Trail Blazers on 2 August 2020.

The 22-year-old love for shoes is infinite and mostly prefers to wear Air Jordans. For the 2019-2020 season, he’s been wearing the Air Jordan XXXIV in exclusive player edition (PE) styles. The XXXIV gives him that stability and peace of mind on the court. 

He signed with Jordan Brand in the summer of 2019. Before, his fondness was towards Nike in the first two NBA seasons.
