The actress was born as Stephanie Lynne Niznik on 20 May 1967 in Bangor, Maine, the United States. She was raised alongside her brother, David Niznik by her mother and her stepfather.

With a tall height of 5 feet and 11 inches (1.8 m), Stephanie received her initial education from the John Bapst Memorial High School in Bangor, Maine. Subsequently, she graduated magma cum laude with degrees in theatre and Russian language at Duke University.

Stephanie Niznik’s debut performance came as Diana in the 1994 comedy-thriller film, Exit to Eden. A year later, she made her first small screen appearance with the main role of Agent Judith Phillips in the action series, Vanishing Son. The promising actress went along with her acting career appearing in movies like The Twilight of the Golds (1996), Star Trek: Insurrection (1998), Anywhere but Here (1999), and The Twenty (2009).

Similarly, her television accolade stood strong with Apollo 11 (1996), Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman (1997), Mr. Murder (1998), Nash Bridges (1999), and Epoch (2001). In the year 2002, she appeared as The Wraith in the sci-fi TV series, Star Trek: Enterprise. She bagged more acknowledgment for her central role of Nina Feeney in the drama show, Everwood (2002-2006).

Stephanie’s other small screen appearances include Grey’s Anatomy (2007), Life is Wild (2007-2008), and Lost (2009).

The veteran actress reportedly died unexpectedly on 23 June in Encino, California. No cause of her death has yet come up in the news headlines.

Stephanie is survived by her mother and stepfather, brother and sister-in-law, niece and nephews, aunt and uncle, and her beloved dogs: Nucleus and Jake.

The late actress had a relationship fling in the past but never had a marriage commitment with anyone. Stephanie shared a six-year-long relationship with American actor Richard Grieco from 2001 to 2007.

The couple made frequent media appearances together since steering their romance in 2001. There was even a rumor in Germany that Stephanie and Richard had a daughter together back in 2003. However, the hoax was later cleared by her family and friends.
