The auctioneer of age 67 was born on 27 March 1954 as Philip Martyn Serrell. He grew up with his family in Kidderminster, Worcestershire, England. Philip holds British nationality and his ethnicity is white.
Talking about his education, the auctioneer attended Royal Grammar School in Worcester for education. Prior to that, he graduated from Loughborough University with a Bachelor of Science.
His Professional Career; Bargain Hunt
Initially, Philip began working as a P.E. and Geography teacher. Displeased of the teaching profession, he began to pursue auctioneering working in the local livestock trade until qualifying as a Chartered Surveyor in 1988 specializing in fine art and antiques.

After gaining experience during his work, Philip was able to set up his own business and started ‘Philip Serrell Auctioneers and Valuers’ in 1995. He is also a regular face and antique expert of BBC series including Bargain Hunt and Flog It and was featured in Antiques Road Trip.
In addition to that, Philip appeared in ITV’s UK modern antiques and collectibles television program Dickinson’s Real Deal. Moreover, the auctioneer recorded the Rock version of the classic “Sleigh Ride” in aid of BBC UK’s charity BBC Children In Need.
Philip Serrell Music Career
Philip embarked on a music career with fellow BBC Antique Experts Charles Hanson, Charlie Ross and James Braxton in 2017. He recorded a Rock version of the classic “Sleigh Ride” in aid of BBC Children In Need. It was released digitally on the independent record label Saga Entertainment.
In 2018, Philip once again took to the microphone with Charlie, James, and 24 celebrities to perform a new Christmas song called “Rock With Rudolph”. Eventually, in 2020 amid the COVID-19 crisis, Philip reunited with his friends to record a new rendition of Merry Christmas Everyone which was released digitally on 11 December 2020, on independent record label Saga Entertainment.
