Mackenzie Christine Foy was born on 10 November 2000 in Los Angeles, California. She is the daughter of Andrew Steven Foy and Giorgina Karrie Foy. Her father was a truck driver and her mother is a homemaker.

Foy with a height of 5 feet 3 inches (1.59 meters) was homeschooled by her parents. She has an older brother named Daniel Bruno Foy.

Mackenzie began her career at the age of three, appearing as a model in print ads. She modeled for various companies such as The Walt Disney Company and Mattel and Gap.
