American actress, Phylicia Rashad is mostly known for her character of Clair Huxtable in the 1984 NBC sitcom The Cosby Show. The sitcom ran for eight seasons until 1992 which made her into the Emmy Award nomination in 1985 and 1986.

Born on 19 June 1948, the artist was raised in Houston, Texas, the United States by her parents, Vivian Allen, Andrew Arthur Allen Sr. Her late father, Andrew was a dentist while her mother, Vivian Ayers is a Pulitzer Prize-nominated artist and a publisher. Her other family member includes her brother, Tex (Andrew Arthur Allen, Jr; a jazz musician, sister Debbie Allen; an actress and dancer and a real estate banker brother, Hugh Allen. During the early days, the Allen family migrated to Mexico.

Speaking about her education, she attended Howard University, graduating magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 1970.

In the movies, she played the role of Mary Anne Creed in both the sequel of American sports drama, Creed (2015) and Creed II (2017). Phylicia first marriage was with a tooth doctor, William Lancelot Bowles Jr. on 13 May 1972. The former delivered their only son named William Lancelot Bowles III in the same following year. However, the three of matrimony ended in divorce in 1975.

Three years later, she met American singer and songwriter, Victor Willis to whom she met at the screening of 1978 film, The Wiz. Subsequently, they decided to tie the knot on 28 April 1978 with the end of their marriage in 1982. Addition to her two failed marriages, the actress first meeting with NFL player and sportscaster, Amad Rashad was on 28 November 1985 where New York Jets played its Thanksgiving Day football match with Detroit Lions. Within two weeks or more, they walk down the aisle on 14 December 1985.

She also took the last name of her third husband, Amad. Phylicia has a daughter, Condola Phylea Rashad, born on 11 December 1986 from Amad. Her third and final divorce came in early 2001 ending 15 years of married life with Amad.

Phylicia has two kids; William and Condola from her first and third marriage.
