Cameron is the eldest son of parents Corey Murray and Angela Murray. He was born on 16 January 1998 in Sydney, Australia.
The Rabbitohs captain has a rugby family background. His father Corey was an important part of the Rabbitohs’ squad in the early nineties.
Murray has a younger sister named Bryanna Murray who is also a rugby player. Bryanna, aged 21, plays as a center for the South Sydney Rabbitohs’ first women’s team.
His NRL Journey
Initially, Cameron played junior rugby league for the Mascot Jets. Afterward, he joined the South Sydney Rabbitohs at the age of 19 in 2015.
Initially, he played for the under-20s of the Rabbitohs. Moreover, he played for the Rabbitohs’ Intrust Super Premiership NSW team, North Sydney Bears in 2016.
On 21 April 2017, the six-foot made his NRL debut for the Rabbitohs against the Brisbane Broncos. He was named the captain of the team on 18 December 2021.
Murray has represented the Australian state of New South Wales and Australia, internationally. He played in all 3 matches for NSW, winning the 2019 State of Origin series 2–1. Likewise, he made his Test debut for Australia against Tonga on 2 November 2019.
