Cam has good college stats which earned him a place in the MLB Draft. At Louisville, he hit for a .434 average with 13 home runs, 40 RBIs, and 19 stolen bases as a sophomore. Following his sophomore year, Cam earned his General Educational Development and was reclassified to the class of 2022.
Eventually, he enrolled at Chipola College where he batted .333 with 8 home runs and 47 RBIs in his freshman season. He then played collegiate summer baseball for the Cotuit Kettleers of the Cape Cod Baseball League.
