Becky Anderson is a British journalist who is one of the highest-profile anchors of CNN International. She now anchors Connect the World with Becky Anderson, the flagship news and current affairs primetime news program on the network.

Rebecca Anderson, age 53, was born on 15 November 1967 in Manchester, England. She is the youngest of three children born to British parents. Her father was a lawyer and her mother Rachel was an English teacher with teaching experience of more than 60 years. She retired at the age of 85 in July 2016. Becky regards her mother as a source of inspiration for women’s empowerment.

Growing up in London, Anderson always wanted to develop her writing skills. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Economics and French from the University of Sussex in 1990. Afterward, she received her Master of Mass Communication from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism at Arizona State University at the age of 24 in 1992.

Becky began her journalism career as a print reporter with various business publications in Arizona. She also gained the experience of extensive business journalism including posts with the UK’s media companies, ITN, CNBC Europe, and Bloomberg.

In 1999, Anderson joined CNN and started to cover the numerous breaking stories. She focused on covering the various issues affecting women and young people around the world. During her tenure, she has interviewed many of the world’s leading politicians such as Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Saudi Foreign Minister Adel Jubeir, Emirati Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed, Qatari Foreign Minister Mohammed Al Thani, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and so on. Furthermore, she sat on an interview table with prominent celebrities such as Jennifer Lopez, Will.i.Am, Akon, Oprah Winfrey, Juliette Binoche, Andrew Lloyd-Weber, Beyoncé, George Clooney, Lady Gaga, Tom Hanks, Javier Bardem, and Brad Pitt.

As of now, she anchors Connect the World with Becky Anderson, a weekday program on CNN International. Besides, she serves as Managing Editor based on CNN’s Abu Dhabi bureau.

Is Becky Anderson Married Now?

Well, the 53-year-old is has dedicated her nearly three decades of life on a journalism career. However, she does not prefer to talk much about her family and personal life. In her leisure time, she prefers to visit her family in London.

Becky’s Staged Protest Allegations

Becky drew criticism after an incident that involved the 2017 London Bridge attack where she was accused of staging an event showing Muslims demonstrating to show sympathy to the victims of the attack.

However, CNN fully refuted the allegation. CNN said in a statement.

The group of demonstrators that was at the police cordon was being allowed through by officers so they could show their signs to the gathered media. The CNN crew along with other media present simply filmed them doing so.
