Who Is Andrew Crowley? Jeopardy Contestant & Personal Life!

Andrew Crowley is set to participate in the 41st season of Jeopardy. The trivia show’s popularity is immense for all age groups, considering the number of seasons and Andrew’s debut on 23rd July 2025.

The freelance writer will make the trivia show debut on 23rd July 2023. Likewise, Andrew is set to compete against the returning champion, Scott Riccardi, and Gerri Budd,  an adjunct professor by day, also owns a small business in Nutley, New Jersey. 

On the other hand, the returning champion, Scott, is an engineer who hails from Somerville, New Jersey. Scott is also the one to set the record, winning the 14th straight game, which makes his total $390,902 per wiki.

I believe I can now openly say so, but I will be appearing on an episode of Jeopardy! that will be airing on July 23. I can’t say more about it publicly until after the episode airs and I will be writing an installment of my newsletter about that. All I will say is that I am among elite company. I was honored to have three of my friends there to support me on my taping day.

I taped on Thomas Pynchon’s birthday and a day after the 30th anniversary of 8 points, 9 seconds. I only felt nervous getting touched up in the makeup department before my game was due to start.

To prepare for the game, I watched Winning Time: Reggie Miller Vs. The New York Knicks. And onstage, I thought of Reggie Miller and Tyrese Haliburtonrton when I needed further inspiration to stay cool under pressure. And I even managed to wear my Pacers tie onstage. And I met a fellow Hoosier there and we talked about what a joy the Pacers playoff run was and that was only after Game 2 of the second round! We had no idea what was in store for us.

More people have played in Major League Baseball than have appeared on Jeopardy!, 20,878 versus around 17,000 people. And it is common for Jeopardy! contestants to know other contestants. Off the top of my head, I know four other people who appeared on the show. And I learned the MLB factoid from them.

As per LinkedIn, Andrew shared the excitement for his debut participation on Jeopardy on 16th July 2025. The fans and mass followers are eagerly waiting for the debut participant to put an end to Scott’s win streak or not. It is apparent to be the toughest battle between the two is not only for the prize money but also the streak or the new participant making a name for himself.

As per LinkedIn, Andrew is on a career break citing personal goal pursuit since March 2024. His association has been with FanSided as an independent contractor since November 2017. He worked in media, social media strategy, broadcasting, and blogging. FanSided is a network of 300+ sports and entertainment platforms based in Chicago, Illinois.

His freelance writing career began in early 2010. Some of his previous work associations have been with Los Angeles Business Journal, Emmons Country Record, Smoking Gose, Robert Half, The Martinsville Reporter-Times, Indiana On Tap, PopMatters, NUVO, and Goose The Buyer.
