The TV personality was born on 6 June 1985 in The Bronx, New York. To complete her education, she went to the Las Vegas Academy and studied Theatre, Theatre Arts, and Journalism from 1999 to 2003. Amanda then got enrolled at California State University, Long Beach, in 2003. Eventually, she received a Bachelor’s degree in Theatre Arts-Performance/ Directing in 2008.

Cancer, The Last Thing, Amanda Expected!

While her Journalism career was on a roar, Amanda was told she has cancer. On 20 June 2019, the Fox News employee got the news of having cancer and that to a rare, aggressive form of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. It was not just a nightmare for her but also to her mother, Anne Marie Salas.

According to Alex Herrera, M.D., assistant professor in the Department of Hematology & Hematopoietic Cell Transplantation and a lymphoma specialist, Amanda cancer case was detected soon with no signs of growing. A month later, she was given stage 2 non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma diagnosis and some extensive months for specialized care. Almost six months of the amalgamated feeling of fear and inspiring others, she became cancer. Her recent Instagram update is a picture of her with some empowering words.

In the IG post, she wrote,

Bittersweet post: Starting tomorrow morning, I’m reporting…from my dining room as I work from home during this pandemic. It’s the best decision while my immunity and white blood cell count continue to normalize after months of extreme chemo. At first, I didn’t want to “entertain” the idea, being that I was home for so many months on medical leave….but this is for the best. It’s a temporary solution, that is the healthiest decision. Thank you to my @foxla family for looking out for me! Last studio pic for a while, make it count!
