The TV personality was born as George Alexander Trebek on 22 July 1940 in Sudbury, Ontario. His parents, George and Lucille Trebek raised him. Alex’s father was a Ukraine immigrant and had the job of a chef while his mother is a Franco-Ontarian. The reporter grew up in a multilingual household with mixed descent. He went to the University of Ottawa to complete graduation upon Philosophy in 1961.

The Jeopardy host has been diagnosed with stage IV pancreatic cancer at the age of 78. The news of the illness was made public by himself on 22 March 2019 through Twitter video sharing.

Alex still possesses sheer positivity to fight back the disease. Not only that, but he also told that around 50,000 US citizen deals with the illness. The news reporter in one of his interview with CTV’s Chief Anchor and Senior Editor Lisa LaFlamme on 4 October 2019 revealed,

I’m not afraid of dying,” and “I’ve lived a good life, a full life, and I’m nearing the end of that life … if it happens, why should I be afraid [of] that?

Likewise, in an ABC interview in late 2019, he revealed of looking at experimental treatments and chemotherapies. The news host is still in sound physical condition to look for construction projects, despite periods of severe pain and depression.

Alex Adopts Daughter Of First Wife First Marriage

The game show entertainer’s first marriage was with American businesswoman, Elaine Kares. They got married on 25 September 1974 with their seven years matrimony ended in divorce on 13 May 1981. His former wife was a previous Playboy Bunny and a degree holder of Ohio State University. Although the former did not have any children, Alex embraced Elaine’s daughter, Nicky from her last wedding.

Almost eight years split with Elaine, Alex went to tie nuptials with a real estate manager, Jean Currivan on 30 April 1990. His second wife, Jean was just 26 years of age during their wedlock.
