The youngest of two children, she is accompanied by a sister named Jane Melichar. Jane is a former tennis player and is now a nurse practitioner at Halifax Health Pediatric Intensive Care Unit in Florida.

Inside Her Tennis Career
Nicole began playing tennis at an early age, inspired by her five years old sister. She played the first events of her career on ITF Circuit in the United States in 2010.
As of now, she has won two singles and seven doubles titles on the ITF Circuit. In 2018, she won the Grand Slam title after winning the mixed-doubles crown at the Wimbledon Championships with Austrian partner Alexander Peya. Likewise, she was a runner-up at the 2018 Wimbledon Championships and the 2020 US Open.
Melichar made her WTA Tour debut at the Tianjin Open in China in October 2015. She has won twelve doubles titles on the WTA Tour and one WTA 125 doubles title. Furthermore, she also played three seasons with World TeamTennis with the teams St. Louis Aces and Washington Kastles.
