Greg Shahade emerged as a new champion on his Jeopardy debut on the 27th April episode, this season. He ended the winning streak of the 31-day champion Jamie Ding, a bureaucrat and a law student from Lawrence Township, New Jersey.
As a returning champion, Greg will defend his championship against two contestants on the 28 April episode. One of them will be Alice Jiang, a student from Redwood City, California, and the other will be Chris Argento, a high school teacher from Bayonne, New Jersey.

Shahade has reached the age of 47 now. He was born Gregory Shahade in 1978 and celebrates his birthday with his family and friends on 22 December.
As per wiki, he was raised by his parents in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. His father Michael Shahade is a FIDE Master who inspired Shahade to make a career in chess. Similarly, his late mother, Sally Solomon, was a Drexel University chemistry professor and an author.
Greg’s sister, Jennifer Shahade, is a chess player, poker player, commentator, and writer who is a two-time United States Women’s champion and has the FIDE title of Woman Grandmaster. He is of Lebanese descent from his father’s side.
Shahadec completed his high school education at Julia R. Masterman School, graduating in 1996. Later, he went to Drexel University to pursue a bachelor’s degree.
In high school, he tied for first in the 1993 National Junior High School Championship and the 1996 National High School Championship. Likewise, he also won the 1996 United States Junior Open outright and won the first of four National High School Chess Championships along with his sister.

Greg is an international chess master and the founder of the New York Masters and the U.S. Chess League. He is a former member of the executive board of the United States Chess Federation.
Currently, he has an FIDE rating of 2476 and has a peak USCF rating of 2554 in 2002. He has hosted the U.S. Chess lessons, where he invited coaches to teach for future chess prodigies.
Shahade also served as the commissioner of the Professional Rapid Online Chess League.
