Lark’s mother, Tricia, named her such after the character in the 1972 film Cool Breeze, played by American actress Margaret Avery. When she was two years old, her family moved to Pasadena, California. Immediately, her mother took her to a talent agent as she was a natural-born ham.

Lark then went on to meet music engineer Jimmy Green at a networking event in 2014. They dated for a year and later shared the wedding vows on 30 April 2015, at a chapel in Las Vegas, Nevada. This togetherness was also not meant to last long as the pair filed for divorce in October 2015, six months after the marriage.
