Alexander was born on 13 July 1988 in Gainesville, Florida, United States. He is the son of Buddy Alexander and Jane Alexander.
A third-generation golfer, both his father and grandfather played golfers. His father was an amateur golfer and was a head coach of the Florida Gators men’s golf team.
Similarly, his grandfather Skipp Alexander won the PGA Tour three times in the late 1940s and early ’50s. He inherited his interest in golf from his father and grandfather. Moreover, he has a sister named Cortnee Gilchrist.
