The golfer’s father Roger is a former basketball coach who coached teams at Canyon del Oro High School and Pima Community College. He has earned numerous honors for his contributions.

Werbylo played hockey at Salpointe Catholic High School in Tucson, Arizona. There, he was ranked no. 26 in the Junior Golf Scoreboard Rankings.
Afterward, he played collegiate golf at the University of Arizona for four years. As a senior, he earned All-Pac-12 First Team Selection and became second in program history with a 71.44 career scoring average.
In August 2021, he won the Fuzzy Zoeller Classic in Indiana back and earned a Korn Ferry card. He finished Top 25 of the Korn Ferry Tour and became eligible to compete in the 2022-23 PGA Tour.
