The journalist was raised by his parents in Brighton, Michigan. His father Richard Alberta was a pastor of Cornerstone Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Brighton, Michigan. Similarly, his mother Donna Alberta works as the church’s pastoral care associate and director of women in ministry.


Tim grew up as an evangelical Christian in a conservative church in a conservative community. He is accompanied by three brothers named Christopher, Jonathan, and Brian Alberta.

Regarding high school, he graduated from Brighton High School in 2004. Moreover, he earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism and political science from Michigan State University in 2008.
