Kyle Lowry an American professional basketball player, who plays as a point guard for the Toronto Raptors of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He was a member of the U.S. national team, winning a gold medal in the 2016 Summer Olympics.

Kyle Terrell Lowry was born on 25 March 1986 to parents Lonnie Lowry Sr. and Marie Holloway. He grew up with a brother named Lonnie Lowry Jr. in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Lowry received his education from Cardinal Dougherty High School in his hometown. He later went to Villanova University to play college basketball. He stands at a height of 6 feet (1.83 meters) and weighs 196 lbs (89 kg).

Kyle played for the Villanova Wildcats men’s basketball for two seasons. Afterward, the Memphis Grizzlies selected him in the first round of the 2006 NBA draft with the 24th overall pick. Later, he joined the Houston Rockets in February 2009.

After playing for the Rockets for three seasons, he was traded to the Toronto Raptors in July 2012. In the 2015–16 season, Lowry led the Raptors to 56 wins in what was then the highest win total in franchise history, as well as helped the team make the Eastern Conference Finals for the first time. He won an NBA championship with Toronto in 2019, which was their first in history.

Initially, Kyle penned a 3-year contract with the Toronto Raptors, worth $100,000,000 in July 2017.  It includes $93,000,000 guaranteed, and an annual average salary of $33,333,333.

In 2019, he signed a one-year, $31 million contract extension that will keep him from entering next year’s free-agent market.

Share Two Sons With Wife

The 33-year-old is currently married to Ayahna Cornish, a fellow Philadelphian native for several years. His wife Ayahna played basketball for Saint Joseph’s University, where she was named the best offensive player for two consecutive seasons.

The couple first met while attending Cardinal Dougherty High School together, where she was also a basketball player. They are now proud parents of two sons; Karter Lowry and Kameron Lowry.
