Not long after he saw this world for the first time, A.J. Bouye had to go through a disheartening family crisis. He had to let go of his mother, who lost her battle to daunting cancer. After that, he was raised by his single father.

Just in news: A.J. Bouye is reportedly traded from Jacksonville Jaguars to Denver Broncos. As per ESPN, he made the switch for a fourth-round draft pick.

A.J. Bouye’s Bio & Family: Age, Mother, Height

The 28-years-of-age American football cornerback was born as Arlandus Jacob Bouye on 16 August 1991, in Tucker, Georgia. He was born as the single child of his parents, Steve Bouye and Jackie Baskin. His father, Steve, worked as a corrections officer for multiple facilities, including the United States Penitentiary in Atlanta.

A.J. had to wave goodbye to his mother, Jackie when he was just 15 months old. She lost her battle to breast and brain cancer, leaving the young A.J. deprived of mother’s love. Jackie was diagnosed with breast cancer and died nine months later after the disease spread to her brain. Amidst the misery, his dad promised his mother to always look after their son while she was on her deathbed. And he did exactly what he pledged.

Standing tall at a height of 6 feet (1.83 meters), A.J. attended and played high school football at Tucker High School. Eventually, he joined the University of Central Florida and played college football for the UCF Knights football team from 2009 to 2012.

NFL Career: Trade, Contract, Injury

The aspiring cornerback got picked by the Houston Texans of the National Football League on 28 April 2013, after going undrafted in the 2013 NFL Draft. Subsequently, he penned a three-year, $1.41 million-worth contract with the Texans, which included a $5,000 signing bonus. Following that, the Texans signed A.J. to a one-year, $1.67 million tender with a right of first refusal class on 8 March 2016.

After his injury-haunted seasons with the Texans, A.J.’s next contract was with the Jacksonville Jaguars. He penned a five-year, $67.5 million-worth deal with $26 million guaranteed and a signing bonus of $10 million on 9 March 2017. The contract offered him an annual salary of $13,500,000.

However, before A.J.’s contract with the Jaguars expired, he reportedly agreed to a trade to the Denver Broncos, as per the news sources on 4 March 2020. It is believed that the Broncos intend to honor the remained of Bouye’s contract that includes $13.4375 million in 2020 and $13.5 million in 2021.
