Preston Smith is an American football outside linebacker, who plays for the Green Bay Packers of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Mississippi State University from 2011 to 2014.

Preston Demarquis Smith was born on 17 November 1992 to American parents. He grew up with his siblings in Stone Mountain, Georgia.

Smith attended Stephenson High School in Stone Mountain, Georgia. He then chose Mississippi State University to play college football. He stands at a towering 6 feet 5 inches (1.96 m) height and weighs 265 lbs (120 kg).

Preston played for Mississippi State Bulldogs football for four seasons from 2011 to 2014. He was selected by the Washington Redskins in the second round (38th overall) of the 2015 NFL Draft.

Smith was voted Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Week after his career-high of three sacks in the game on the Week 16 game against the Philadelphia Eagles in the 2015 season. He played for the Redskins for four seasons until 2018. Afterward, he signed with the Green Bay Packers in March 2019.
