The player was born as Patrick Christopher Chung on 19 August 1987 in Kingston, Jamaica to parents, Ronald Chung and Sophia George. Apart from his caring parents, he has four brothers and three sisters. He went to Rancho Cucamonga High School in Rancho Cucamonga, California and played for college, Oregon.

The 32-year-old has a soaring net worth of $4 million. In 2008 draft, he was eligible to be a part of NFL auction, and in 2009 the New England Patriots picked him in the second round. Within some months, he and the team agreed upon a five years contract worth $5 million for four years on 27 July 2009. A part of the agreement also included a signing bonus of $2 million.

After three years, he went to the Philadelphia Eagles on a three years contract worth $10 million on 12 March 2013.  A year, he returned to Patriots on 3 April 2014 for a year contract worth $1.10 million. In 2015, he and Patriots agreed upon a three years contract, $8.20 million extensions with $3.40 million guaranteed and a $2.40 million signing bonus.
