Olivia is one of the three children of parents Sebastian Ododa and Heather Nelson-Ododa. She was born on 17 August 2000 in Lansing, Michigan, United States.
The player comes from sports family background as her father Sebastian was a professional basketball player and has represented the Kenya men’s national basketball team. Moreover, he played college basketball for Huntington University.
Nelson-Ododa is accompanied by an elder brother named Alonzo Nelson-Ododa and a younger brother Isaiah Ododa. Alonzo is also a basketball player who played as a forward at Danish side, Team FOG Naestved.
