Born as Nicolle Devenish on 4 February 1972 in Orange County in Southern California, she is the eldest of four children. Her father was an antique dealer and her mother worked as a third-grade teacher’s assistant in public schools. She grew up with two sisters; Courtney and Ashley, and a brother named Zack Devenish in Orinda in Northern California.

Wallace graduated from Miramonte High School at the age of 18 in 1990. She then went to the University of California, Berkeley, and received a B.A. in mass communications in 1994. Afterward, she received her master’s degree from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism in 1996.

Nicolle married an American businessman Mark Wallace in September 2005 on the island of Mykonos in Greece. Mark, aged 52 served as the United States Ambassador to the United Nations for UN Management and Reform during the administration of President George W. Bush. Recently, he served as CEO of United Against Nuclear Iran (UANI) and the Counter Extremism Project (CEP) in 2019.
