The Prodigy Vocalist Keith Flint Dies At Age 49

English musician Keith Flint was found unresponsive at his house in Essex, England. The police regards that the death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.

Keith Flint, the vocalist of an electronic music band, The Prodigy was found dead at age 49 at his home in Essex. His band, The Prodigy released a statement confirming the news on 4th March 2019.

It is with deepest shock and sadness that we can confirm the death of our brother and best friend Keith Flint. A true pioneer, innovator and legend. He will be forever missed. We thank you for respecting the privacy of all concerned at this time.

Liam Howlett, the co-founder of the band confirmed the death of Keith as a suicide through an Instagram post.

The news is true, I can’t believe I’m saying this but our brother Keith took his own life over the weekend, I’m shell shocked, fuckin angry, confused and heart broken ….. r.i.p brother Liam.

Flint joined The Prodigy, formed in 1990, as a dancer and in 1996, he took over on the mic and started appearing on the performances. He was also the lead singer of his band Flint, created in 1969.

The enormous flow of tributes has been made from his musical peers, such as Ed Simons of dance duo the Chemical Brothers, and radio presenter Beverley Knight.

Keith was married to his long-term love, Japanese DJ Mayumi Kai on 16th December 2006. He had previously mentioned that Mayumi saved him from a life of “drugs and shagging around”.

The Redbridge native was born as Keith Charles Flint on 17th September 1969 to parents Clive and Yvonne Flint. Initially raised in East London, he moved with parents to Springfield, Essex in mid-1970s.

Flint got featured as the vocalist of The Prodigy on the hit single “Firestarter” in 1996. He was one of the most iconic musical figures with his appearance, punk aesthetic of piercings, spiked hair and intense stare. All of the band’s seven albums have reached No 1 in the UK.

He also had his own motorcycle team, Team Traction Control, which competed in the British Supersport Championship. The talented musician had the estimated net worth of $15million from more than two decades of musical career.
