Rex Murphy’s Bio: Age, Parents

Rex Murphy, age 73, was born in March 1947, in Carbonear, Newfoundland. He is the second of five children of his parents, Harry Murphy and Marie Murphy. Rex currently lives in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

As of his educational background, Rex graduated from Memorial University of Newfoundland in the year 1968. Afterward, he relocated to the United Kingdom and studied at St Edmund Hall in the University of Oxford as a Rhodes Scholar. However, he did not receive a degree.

Career: CBC, National Post

Since guiding his career in the media field, Rex has received tremendous name and fame. At the present time, he serves as a regular commentator on the various branches of the CBC. Besides, he appears regularly in the commentary program entitled ‘Point of View’ on The National. Apart from that, Rex previously worked as a regular host of CBC Radio One’s nationwide call-in show Cross Country Checkup.

Rex announced his retirement from Cross Country Checkup on 20 September 2015. In the meantime, he continued to offer his commentary on The National. He wrote a column for the Saturday edition of The Globe and Mail newspaper until January 2010. However, as the Globe canceled the column, Rex moved to the National Post.

Rex also has an 18-year-old daughter with his wife, whom he has stopped seeing. Many of his pals often said that he’d always be on the verge of goodness and then he’d have an episode.
