Joshua Michael Elliott was born on 6 July 1971 to mother Susan. Soon after his birth, he was adopted by Charles Elliott and Toni Jordan and grew up in Los Angeles, California. Eventually, his parents divorced as his father came out as gay when Josh was 13 years old.

Elliott with the height of 6 feet 3 inches (1.91 meters) attended Loyola High School of Los Angeles. Afterward, he went to the University of California, Santa Barbara from where he graduated with a B.A. degree in English literature at the age of 22. He received a Master of Science degree from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism in 1999.

His Career; ESPN, ABC, NBC, CBS

Firstly, Josh joined ESPN in 2004 and began to work as a panelist for the shows, Around the Horn and Jim Rome Is Burning. Moreover, he co-anchored the daily sports news program, SportsCenter for three years from its beginning in 2008.

In 2011, he joined ABC News and started to appear on Good Morning America. He also anchored the weekend edition of ABC World News. Elliott left ABC in 2014 and joined NBC to appear in news-related programs. He worked for more than a year on NBC as a sports correspondent.

Josh moved to CBS News in 2016 as the lead anchor for its digital news service CBSN. He was promised for a bigger role by a network executive.
