Following his junior season, he decided to forgo his final season of eligibility to enter the 2022 NFL Draft. He was selected by the Buffalo Bills in the sixth round, 180th overall, of the 2022 NFL Draft.

The Bills released Araiza on 27 August 2022 after he was accused of rape in a civil lawsuit.

As per the sources, he was one of three college players involved in the rape of a 17-year-old girl back in October.2021. He and two others were alleged to have repeatedly raped the girl at an off-campus party in San Diego.

However, he has denied the allegations and released a statement stating that he would “look forward to quickly setting the record straight”.

Moreover, he added, “The facts of the incident are not what they are portrayed in the lawsuit or in the press.”
