Strom was born to parents Jonny Strom and Helena Strom on 14 October 1996. Her parents raised her in Hovas located in Gullspång Municipality, Västra Götaland County, Sweden.

Linnea finished fifth on the 2018 Symetra Tour money list, which earned her membership in the 2019 LPGA Tour. As a rookie, she recorded a best finish of T5 at the Marathon Classic and finished sixth in the Louise Suggs Rolex Rookie of the Year standings.
In 2022, she competed in both the Ladies European Tour and the Epson Tour. Moreover, she won the IOA Championship on the Epson Tour and was runner-up at the Twin Bridges Championship in the same year.
