Born Laviska Terrell “Viska” Shenault Jr. on 5 October 1998, he is 22 years of age. His parents Laviska Shenault Sr. and Annie Brown Shenault raised him in Irving, Texas, United States.
Annie now works as Consumer Services Professional in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex area. Moreover, she played college basketball at the University of Dubuque.
Laviska is one of five children in the family and has two brothers, La’Vontae and Calvin, and three elder sisters, Dominique, Terri, and Tyanna. His younger brother La’Vontae Shenault, age 20, plays college football as a wide receiver at the University of Colorado.
What Happened To His Father?
The 6-foot-1 faced a family tragedy as he lost his father when he was 10 years old. Laviska’s father Shenault Sr. was killed in a pedestrian incident in southeast Irving on 17 July 2009.
Shenault Sr. pulled over the car so that his wife, Annie, could take over the driving duties. He slipped into the bypass of oncoming traffic and was struck by two vehicles, an F-150 pickup, and a 2003 Acura.
Laviska has grown out his signature dreadlocks since the day of his father’s death as a tribute to him.
His Journey To NFL
Shenault played high school football at DeSoto High School in DeSoto, Texas. In his senior year, he had 46 receptions for 825 yards and nine touchdowns.
After high school, Shenault committed to the University of Colorado Boulder to play college football. There, he played for three years, playing in 31 career games with 16 starts.
Laviska was selected by the Jacksonville Jaguars with the 42nd overall pick in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft.
Subsequently, he made his NFL debut against the Indianapolis Colts on 13 September 2020. In his rookie season, he played 14 games, starting in 12 games.

On 9 July 2020, Laviska penned a 4-year contract with the Jaguars, worth $7,696,069. It includes a $3,157,140 signing bonus, $4,116,961 guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $1,924,017.
In the 2021 season, he will earn a base salary of $959,821 while carrying a cap hit of $1,749,106 and a dead cap value of $3,327,676.
