In 1987, Larry King survived a heart attack after a quintuple bypass surgery. The eight-time married man had numerous health issues that includes prostate cancer, and he has Type 2 diabetes.

Award-winning American television host Larry King suffered from severe chest pain after surviving a heart attack!

The CNN veteran is recovering in a hospital after undergoing a heart procedure. In a statement issued by Ora TV, the network behind “Larry King Now,” he had a scheduled angioplasty on 25 April 2019.

His doctor successfully performed the angioplasty and inserted stents to reopen the previous bypass from 1987.

He has been recuperating in the hospital and is scheduled to be released soon. His doctors expect him to make a full recovery.

Moreover, the network stated that he did not have a heart attack and did not go into cardiac arrest.

Larry suffered from a heart attack in 1987 and underwent quintuple bypass surgery. It led him to quit three-pack cigarettes a day and lose weight. He even established the Larry King Cardiac Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to the people, who do not have health insurance afford medical care.

Similarly, he had numerous health issues such as prostate cancer, and he lives with Type 2 diabetes. In September 2017, he revealed that he battled with lung cancer with a Stage 1 tumor during the chest X-ray. The malignant tumor was removed from surgery at Cedars-Sinai in Los Angeles.

The 85-year-old is married for eight times with seven women. Firstly, he married high-school sweetheart Freda Miller in 1952, but the marriage ended with a year due to the underage issue. In 1961, he married Annette Kaye and welcomed a son, Larry Jr. in November 1961. They separated in the same year of marriage.

Alene Akins was his third wife whom he married from 1969 to 1963. They adopted a son named Andy in 1962. His fourth marriage was with Mary Francis “Mickey” Stuphin from 1963 to 1967. In 1969, he remarried Alene and had a daughter named Chaia. They divorced for the second time in 1972.

Similarly, his marital relationship with fifth wife Sharon Lepore exists from 1976 to 1983. Julie Alexander was his sixth wife whom he married from 1989 to 1992. He is currently married to actress Shawn Southwick since 1997. The couple share two sons; Cannon Edward King and Chance Armstrong King. Larry and Shawn filed for divorce in 2010, but they reconciled.
