Early Life & Family, Height

The American Sportsman was born as Paul Edward Goldschmidt on 10 September 1987 in Wilmington, Delaware. He is the first child of his Jewish father, David Goldschmidt and Catholic mother, Kim Goldschmidt, who first met at the Rochester Institute of Technology.

Paul grew alongside his two younger brothers in The Woodlands, Texas, after his family moved from Wilmington to Dallas and then relocated to Houston. He soon attended The Woodlands High School and started playing baseball.

Standing at a tall height of 6 feet and 3 inches (1.91 m), Paul graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Management from the University of Phoenix in September 2013.

MLB Stats, Contract

Paul Goldschmidt’s major professional journey began after The Arizona Diamondbacks selected him in the eighth round of the 2009 MLB Draft. Immediately, he penned the contract with the Diamondbacks with a signing bonus of $95,000.

After being promoted to the major leagues on 1 August 2011, Paul started in 48 games and recorded the stats of .250 batting average with 8 home runs and 26 RBIs during his rookie season. During his eight seasons with the Diamondbacks, Paul recorded the rampant stats of 209 home runs, 710 RBIs, 1,179 hits, 708 runs scored, and 267 doubles from 1,088 games. Following the 2018 season, the Diamondbacks exercised the $14.5 Million option on his contract for the 2019 season.

Apparently, on 5 December 2018, Paul was traded to the St. Louis Cardinals and he agreed to a five-year contract extension worth $130 Million on 23 March 2019. In his only second regular start for the Cardinals, Paul recorded three home runs in his team’s 9-5 triumph over the Milwaukee Brewers on 29 March 2019.

Paul is a married man. He tied the wedding knot with his wife, Amy Glazier in October 2010. The couple first met during Paul’s freshman year at Texas State. Soon, they started dating and took their relationship into the vows of marriage.

Since, the married pair is co-parenting two kids together: a daughter and a son. They first welcomed their son named Jake Goldschmidt in September 2015. Later, the pair was blessed with a beautiful daughter, whose identity remains secret.
