Injuries are part and parcel of every game, and its latest victim is Lonzo Ball. The NBA player is currently dealing with a severe ankle injury after colliding with a player of Houston Rockets.

American Basketball player, Lonzo Ball plays for NBA team Los Angeles Lakers with jersey number two. Just one playing season old, Lonzo has already left a mark from his impeccable playing records for the team.

Lonzo Ball’s Bio & Family

Born as Lonzo Anderson Ball, the player was born on 27 October 1997 in Anaheim, California. His father, LaVar is a former college basketball who also played for NFL team, Carolina Panthers and New York Jets. Other than that, Lorenzo’s mother, Tina also played basketball for Golden Eagles. For now, she works at Vernon Middle as their athletic director. Both his parents exchanged wedding vows in 1996.

The other family member includes Lonzo’s two brother’s LaMelo and LiAngelo Ball. Both the siblings play as a shooting guard for the Junior Basketball team, Los Angeles Ballers. Lonzo stands at a height of 6 feet 6 inches (1.98 meters) with a bodyweight of around 86 kg.

More About Lonzo’s Injury

The 22-year-old early-season injury came with the Los Angeles game against Houston Rockets on 19 January 2019. During the match, Lonzo’s left ankle’s ligament tore up with a severe injury after colliding with Rockets player, James Ennis Ill in the third quarter.

During the first quarter, he made a career-high seven assists for his team’s 13-0 points. However, the Lakers lost the game with 138-134 with Lonzo’s 11 assists, 18 points in 22 minutes.

Similarly, a year ago on 27 July 2018, a severe injury occurred where Lonzo underwent arthroscopic surgery on his left knee to repair a torn meniscus.

Career & Salary

The player’s professional playing career started from the 2017 NBA draft. The Los Angeles Lakers signed him in the very first round of the draft after selecting D’Angelo Russell and Brandon Ingram. He signed a four-year contract with the Lakers and made his first debut for the team in the NBA Summer League in 2017. During the same season, he made an average of 9.3 assists, 7.7 rebounds, and 16.3 points per game.

In the 2017/2018 season, Lonzo received $6,286,560 salary from his 52 games including an average of 7.2 assists, 6.9 rebounds, and 10.2 points per game. Apart from that, Lonzo is reportedly paid $7,461,960 salary as a part of his contract in 2018/2019 season.

Traded To New Orleans Pelicans In 2019

On 6 July 2019, the Lakers traded Lonzo to New Orleans in a trade package for Anthony Davis. The trade package includes him alongside Brandon Ingram, Josh Hart, the draft rights to De’Andre Hunter, two first-round picks, a first-round pick swap, and cash.

On 22 October 2019, he made debut for the Pelicans in a 130–122 overtime loss to the defending champion Toronto Raptors. There, he registered eight points, five rebounds, and five assists.

Welcomes Baby-Daughter After Three Years Dating

Besides his impeccable playing stats, Lonzo enjoys a blissful relationship with longtime girlfriend, Denise Garcia. His lover played Division I soccer for both; Seattle University and the University of California. The lovely duo is high school sweethearts and is dating each other since 2015. Together the pair have a baby daughter named Zoey Christina Ball, born on 22 July 2018.

Nevertheless, Lonzo and Garcia do not have any plans of getting married anytime soon.

Split With Girlfriend Denise

Well, the couple is no longer together now. The on-again, off-again relationship with Lonzo and his girlfriend Denise ended, which he revealed in early September 2019.

During the radio appearance with Big Boy, Ball confirmed that he and Garcia have split roughly one year after doing the same last year. However, the split is amicable as they are focused on parenting their two-year-old daughter Zoey.

After the breakup, he has been linked with Ally Rossel and and Instagram model Jasmine Rae.
