In his contract, the team agreed upon paying him a yearly salary of $16.8 million. Similarly, a deal worth $20.5 million signing bonus and $52.5 million guaranteed money also came in agreement. The next season, Justin was sidelined with multiple injuries that made him appear only five games.

In 2018, he played his regular season of 12 games with 37 tackles, nine sacks, five forced fumbles, and one interception. However, the player was released by the Chief from his eight long seasons on 10 March 2019.
