The NFL talent was born as Christopher Jason Witten on 6^th May 1982 to parents; Eddie Witten and Kimberly Witten Barnett. He grew up along with elder brothers Ryan and Shawn in Washington D.C.

Jason’s father Eddie was a 6-8 mailman, who used to abuse his mother and brothers. So, he moved to Elizabethton to live with his grandparents and attended Elizabethton High School there. Jason with a height of 6 feet 6 inches (1.98 meters) later got a scholarship at the University of Tennessee and started playing football.
