After playing for Rutgers, he was selected by the New England Patriots in the third round of the 2013 NFL Draft with the 91st overall pick. He signed a 4-year contract with the Patriots worth $2.711 million that included a $533,600 signing bonus. He was named as the Patriot’s backup strong safety before the 2013 regular season started.

Duron debuted for the Patriots in the team’s Week 2 match against the New York Jets and he recorded one tackle in the game 2 matchup against the Jets over their 13-10 victory.

In the divisional round of the 2014 playoffs, he intercepted Joe Flacco‘s pass with less than two minutes remaining in the game which led Patriots to hold onto a 35–31 win over the Baltimore Ravens. He later stated that it was the biggest pick of his life.

Duron re-signed with the New England Patriots as an unrestricted free agent on 10 March 2017 where he recorded 23 tackles and career-highs of 7 pass deflections and 4 interceptions in that season.

He had the impressive stats in the 2018 season with 38 combined tackles (32 solos), 4 pass deflections, 4 interceptions, and one fumble recovery. As of 2019 season, he recorded his first interception of the season off Daniel Jones and returned it for 27 yards in the 35-14 win over the New York Giants in Matchweek 6.

• In 2008, Duron sneaked in his wife’s college dorm on her birthday and got caught. He had to find a random hotel to sleep that night.
