The New Jersey native was born as Brittany May McHenry on 28 May 1986. Her father served in the Air Force for more than 20 years and her mother was a hairdresser and salon designer. She is accompanied by a sister in a family.

Britt began her journalism career, joining ABC’s Washington affiliate, WJLA-TV and also as a fill-in anchor and sports reporter for NewsChannel 8. Moreover, she worked for Fox Sports San Diego as a dugout reporter on the San Diego Padres telecasts for two weeks and returned to ABC 7.

In 2014, she joined ESPN and worked as a correspondent for various shows such as SportsCenter, Outside the Lines, NFL Live and Baseball Tonight. In 2017, she announced on Twitter that she is leaving ESPN and NFL Draft will be her last assignment for the network. McHenry left ESPN and joined Fox News as a contributor, serving as a host on WTTG Fox 5 in Washington, D.C.
